Every year on August 15, we celebrate Independence Day, the day when India is proud and the country shines. On August 15, 1947, India was freed from British colonial rule and independence was declared in India. So keeping that historical day in mind, we celebrate 15th August every year as India’s Independence Day. We celebrated our first independence anniversary on August 15, 1948, and will celebrate our 76th anniversary this year on August 15, 2023. Along with the hoisting of the National Flag, we will sing the National Anthem and celebrate the three causes with heartfelt respect and unity.

The theme of this year’s Independence Day on 15th August 2023 is “Nation First, Always First”. The government has decided to hold several events and programs to celebrate “Azadi Ki Amrit Mohotsav”.
